How it works

How pip value & margin work

A pip (percentage in point) is the smallest standard price move for most forex pairs 0.0001 for EUR/USD, or 0.01 for JPY pairs and gold. On a 1-standard-lot EUR/USD position, each pip is worth roughly $10 because 1 lot equals 100,000 units.

Required margin is the deposit your broker holds to keep a leveraged position open. It equals notional value divided by leverage e.g. $108,420 notional at 1:500 leverage needs about $216.84 in margin.

Use this calculator to plan position size before you trade. Pair it with a stop-loss distance to work out dollar risk per trade, and always check that margin fits comfortably within your account balance on RakizFx.
